Grey squirrels are a common sight in rural and urban areas throughout the UK. In small numbers, they can exist alongside humans without causing any issues at all. But they can also become some of the most unpleasant pests homeowners and businesses have to deal with.
Squirrels will often choose roof spaces and lofts as a nesting site, which is very problematic. Firstly, squirrels can spread a number of diseases so they are not an animal you want too close to home. Diseases carried by squirrels include:
- Lyme Disease
Grey squirrels can also be dangerous as they are highly territorial. They will regard their nesting space as part of their territory and it will be impossible to move them, especially if they have babies.
